Register for Investigating Proportional Reasoning in the Middle Grades

Tuesdays: October 10, 17, 24, and 31
5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the RUSMP classroom, 5615 Kirby Drive, Suite 300

This course is designed for middle school mathematics teachers who are seeking a strong foundation in proportional reasoning with emphasis on models, multiple representations, and symbolic reasoning. Concepts are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

• Ratios and proportions

• Multiplicative reasoning and scale

• Proportional and non-proportional situations

• Tools for problem solving

• Use of manipulatives and technology to explore proportional reasoning

Each teacher will receive course materials and professional development credit.

Enrollment is limited.

The fee for this course is $400. An invoice for this amount will be sent to your school. Payment must be made prior to the first class meeting.

Please note that registrations are considered final. No refunds will be issued, only replacements.
