Register for Developing Number Operations in Grades K-2

Summer, 2017

July 10 - 13 (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)
RUSMP classroom (5615 Kirby Drive, Suite 300)

This course is designed to support teachers of Grades K-2 as they develop their students’ understanding of counting, cardinality, and place value. Conceptual and procedural understanding of operations with whole numbers will be emphasized. Concepts are aligned with the revised Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

• Emphasis on vertical alignment of concepts

• Use of manipulatives to explore number concepts and operations

• Development of mental strategies and algorithms to perform operations

• Problem-solving strategies

• Assessment strategies

Each teacher will receive course materials and professional development and gifted education hours.

Enrollment is limited.

The fee for this course is $1000. An invoice for this amount will be sent to your school. Payment must be made prior to the first class meeting.
