38th Annual Summer Campus Program for PreK-12 Mathematics Teachers

Two Weeks: July 8-19 (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) plus follow-up sessions during the RUSMP Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Networking Conferences (No class on July 15, teachers are encouraged to attend opening day at CAMT on July 15 which takes place in Houston, Texas this year)

RUSMP’s 2024 Summer Campus Program for PreK-12 Mathematics Teachers will take place online. The sessions will take place 9 a.m. - noon (Monday-Friday) with individual/group work noon - 3 p.m. for four separate classes: grades PreK-1, 2-5, 6-Algebra I, and Geometry-Calculus. The content focus this summer is “Integrating Algebra, Geometry, and Number through STEAM.”

Teachers will develop:
• a deep understanding of and skills to implement high-quality mathematics curriculum, instruction, appropriate technology integration, and assessment (including data-informed decision-making), and
• a repertoire of research-based methods for motivating and supporting all students to persist and achieve in mathematics with a special focus on motivating underrepresented minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Class discussions on current issues in mathematics education will energize and empower teachers.

The four classes will be facilitated by award-winning RUSMP Master Teachers and Rice University Faculty.

Each teacher will receive 54 CPE hours and course materials for their participation during the Summer Campus Program. In addition, Houston ISD will award 6 hours of GT credit. Additional CPE hours will be awarded for attendance during the RUSMP Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Networking Conferences.

The fee for this program is $1,800. UPON YOUR REGISTRATION, AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOUR SCHOOL/DISTRICT. Please make sure that funds are secured before completing registration.
