Summer 2025Program for PreK-1 TeachersJune 23-26 (9:00 am – 3:00 pm)in the RUSMP classroom, 5615 Kirby Drive, Suite 300This program is designed for teachers who are seeking to strengthen their understanding of mathematics in grades PreK-1. Topics will be explored through engaging researched-based hands-on explorations, correlations to children’s literature, awareness of mathematics in everyday life, engaging mathematics songs that enhance the learning of mathematics, and assessments to measure student understandings.The topics that will be explored in this program include:• Explorations using positional words• Counting • Recognizing, classifying, and sorting two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes• Representing comparisons using comparative language and symbols • Using measurement to develop comparisons in problem solving situations Each teacher will receive program materials and professional development credit.Enrollment is limited.The fee for this program is $1,200. An invoice for this amount will be sent to your school. Payment must be made prior to the first class meeting.
